Churches across the world are always talking about the Second coming of the Lord God. We can find references to this all the way back to the old testament. However some people have apparently stop looking at the word of God as a whole. We have as a people stop listening to the words that he spoke directly.
I can remember back in 1979 walking along 7th Ave in NYC, with a friend of mine. As we came up to 42nd St we came across a man with a bill board which stated that the second coming was in the year 1985. Well they then changed that tune and simply stated that they had made an error in calculations. Subsequently I have heard of several other dates that have been stated since.
I am still drawn to the verse which I have listed above, when Jesus Christ himself stated that, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons” . This is one of those things that we are just called on to have a bit of faith on.
Well recently another friend called me to pick on me, and stated “well aren’t you the lucky one”. When I asked her to explain she let me know that there is a major movement that is stating that Jesus Christ will be returning on October 21, 2011. Which just happens to be the day of my birthday. Well that is funny, but I wonder and stop to cry a bit.
How many of my friends will be ready if that is indeed the day of his return. To me that would be a fantastic celebration. I know that it is not for us to know the exact date, and his word tells us that his coming will be quick and as a thief in the night.
So since we can almost rest assure that no man, will be able to predict the exact date, I ask and wonder.
