reaching hand

Since music is the one and just about the only thing in this world which seems to be easiest  to
agree on.I am not sure it The Beatles had in mind that this song could become almost a national anthem.
How many of us have found ourselves looking for that someone, or something to help us out of some dark place, or situation. Only to turn around and cause pain to the next, or bury them in some other senseless situation.
I have found myself looking back at my life and wondering, why have  I stopped so often in life, and gotten so much evil and darkness back. Why are there moments when death itself seems yet so darn great.
Check out these words:

What would you do if I sang out of tune,
Would you stand up and walk out on me.
Lend me your ears and I’ll sing you a song,
And I’ll try not to sing out of key.
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends,
Mmm,I get high with a little help from my friends,
Mmm, I’m gonna try with a little help from my friends.

Do you need anybody?
I need somebody to love.
Could it be anybody?
I want somebody to love.

Well Simon and Garfunkel had the right idea when they released their song, “Sound of Silence”.

It seems that today there is no one that really shows concern or true caring for their fellow-man. If there is a dispute they simply stop talking, to the person.  I remember reading somewhere, on some pic online. The caption read, “we made it this far cause we talked instead of walking away. It seems that even churches today have taken up this attitude.

And this new idea, of “unfriend”. Really. I guess then you never really were friends to start with. I’d love to find a way to end the silence, but for now. All I can do is just be as the song,  one more voice singing in the darkness.

Hello darkness, my old friend
I’ve come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence

In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
‘Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence

And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence

“Fools”, said I, “You do not know
Silence like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you”
But my words, like silent raindrops fell
And echoed
In the wells of silence

Couldn’t resist so here are the words to the last song, so you can sing along with the link above:

Just One Voice,
Singing in the darkness,
All it takes is One Voice,
Singing so they hear what’s on your mind,
And when you look around you’ll find
There’s more than
One Voice,

Singing in the darkness,
Joining with your One Voice,
Each and every note another octave,
Hands are joined and fears unlocked,
If only
One Voice
Would start it on its own
We need just One Voice
Facing the unknown,
And that One Voice
Would never be alone
It takes that One Voice.

Ba ba ba da da da da,
Ba ba ba ba ba ba da da da,
Ba ba ba ba ba ba
It takes that one voice

Just One Voice
Singing in the darkness,
All it takes is One Voice,
Shout it out and let it ring.
Just One Voice,
It takes that One Voice,
And everyone will sing!
